Blog within a Blog
Yes I've been griping. I don't know if I can pinpoint what it is about Blogger that is driving me nuts... but since I'm never short on words and opinions I will try... and heck I'm on holiday so I have time to kill.
1) Blogger takes forever to load my sermons
2) Blogger has some good templates, but the one I'm using isn't what I want anymore but...
3) to Change the template means that the rest of the site, and yes there are many pages on this site, need to be completely redone. I'm unsure if starting from scratch isn't a better option.
4)The interface is very old school and I want more options and an easier interface / dashboard when entering my blogs, videos and podcasts.
Those are my mains issues. So there are 2 options, going to Wordpress or going to iWeb. The former means loads of templates etc but again am I just replacing one web based app for another? What is a "web app"? instead of having the program on your computer the program is on the web. Practically you can go anywhere and on anyones machine and still be able to blog. The later option is nice for me with my mac at home, but since the app is on my machine it means I'm bound to my home machine until I can blog from a mac lappy... and that isn't going to happen for a year at least.
So I'm fooling around at the moment ("atm" is the short form of that :-) and have put A BLOG WITHIN A BLOG on the pastorpainter site, go to http://www.pastorpainter.com/iweb/Site/Blog/Blog.html You'll find it is a whole site within a site. The other little offering I have is on wordpress at http://pastorpainter.wordpress.com/
If your worried that you'll miss something don't worry all "real" posts will be here on the traditional pastorpainter site.
