Over the past year I have taken up my love of oil and palate knives - space needs to be filled and I need to create for I wilt you know.

Above is our place using Live Interior 3D - gotta give the love to Macs! BTW there are no frames around the 2” oils.

This is in progress - going to add fuchsia and purple I think, but I like it as is. Torn. Needs white impasto anyway.

I hate blue. I find it an arrogant colour, often drawing away from all but the cads. I think I’m going to leave the canvas and put it in my olive office, on the program it works: oddly.

This is my biggie. It’s 3’x4’ and is the focus of the dining room (“Dancing Among the Deadwood”). The inspiration comes from a Route 2 tree that is very Group of Seven and seems to dance. I love that tree, so when pressed to find a subject it was obvious. I’m sad it’s too small - I should have blocked it on that side but 6” taller reaching slightly farther right.

My best IMHO. It was a umber background with Sherry laying on it nude in cobalt “water oil” (washed off her easily). I just didn’t feel it. So I painted over it, blocking the “nude” bits. The arm and leg are in a burnt sienna mix I think. I just love this piece... something about the story and the perfect triangle seems to get the viewer but many wouldn’t see this as a nude.

Riopelle Like, maybe more like “Lite”. I have a love hate relationship with this one. Tons of colour but too predictable. I hate the green/yellow and the blue, but Sherry loves it.

This was the one that started it all in 20. I recalled my Art History class in High School in Deux Montagnes and my teacher, Mme Jergenlink, explaining about the Quiet Revolution and Art. This was all brushwork and I was so in love with it, yet also hated the fact that my blocks weren’t straight. I added the swirls just to give movement against the obvious weakness in my blocks. I still like it especially as I hadn’t touched a paint brush since 1984! *Most of the oil paint used in these are 20 years old!

I did this of Sher. Loves my chair (odd as I hate blue) and my plant ... I felt so good about this that I painted over it.

This was the last of that 2008-2009 group of stuff. I just wanted to play with the palate knife again and loved it. Out of that love came the first few paintings. I think I like the rawness of this. The later works from 2010-11 are very “out of the tube” and I want to go back to blending and a hectic feeling.

What fun. It’s like being naked in front of the congregation - lot’s of covered eyes and screams of horror :-)

But nope, Apple treated the iWeb product like it has the DVD, a dead medium. Sad because the iPad is perfect or bloggers. And Facebook and Twitter isn’t Blogging. I’ll muddle through, but I am sad that traditional blogs and websites are not as they were. Facebook sites are taking over and we just have to accept that fact. WWPA on Facebook? Hummm not the way I want it, but who am I to fight the man?

I will find some app to communicate and some formate to make it appropriate for all you who patiently look at this utter mess of a blog :-)
